After serving as a state prosecutor, Chris transitioned into private practice approximately ten years ago. He focuses on litigation of all kinds, from contract disputes to fraud actions.
He is licensed in Colorado, New York, and the federal courts, and he has litigated cases throughout the country. His trial practice includes more than 40 jury trials as first chair.
Chris represents a diverse range of clients, from financial institutions and law firms to demolition companies, craft breweries, and agricultural operations. Additionally, Chris specializes in nationwide post-judgment litigation to locate corporate-debtor assets, investigate fraudulent transfers, and assist parties in recovering on substantial judgments. Chris also represents clients in enforcement actions against the State of Colorado and the Attorney General.
As part of his financial industry practice, Chris has served as litigation counsel to the Lehman Brothers estate since 2011. Chris also represents master loan servicers in disputes involving the rights and remedies of certificate holders and securitization trusts.
In addition to his trial and litigation practice, Chris has argued before the Colorado Supreme Court and the Colorado Court of Appeals. His reputation is reflected by the peer-nominated Super Lawyer process, in which he has been selected as a Rising Star for each of the last five years, a distinction limited to 2.5% of Colorado’s practicing attorneys under the age of 40.
